Colgo l'occasione di partecipare a un recente giveaway di un bel libro di fotografia, The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion, per parlarvi finalmente di una fotografa danese che ammiro molto: Christina Greve, nota ai più con il nome d'arte Divas and dreams photography.

Pensate, questa donna ha cominciato a dedicarsi seriamente alla fotografia appena un anno fa ma ha già raggiunto - secondo il mio punto di vista - dei risultati straordinari. Per rendervene conto date un'occhiata al suo blog oppure al suo photostream su Flickr.

Mi piace molto lo stile vintage e retrò dei suoi scatti (che lei stessa ha definito "fotografia in stile boudoir"), realizzati principalmente con luce naturale, colori tenui e parecchie ore spese in compagnia dell'amico Photoshop.

Spesso rimango sbalordita di fronte al suo lavoro, anche perché è un'autodidatta, proprio come me, ma la differenza è abissale! Chissà se anch'io, come lei, riuscirò un giorno a raggiungere delle punte d'eccellenza nella splendida arte della fotografia...

I use the occasion of taking part in a recent giveaway for a wonderful photography book, The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion, to write something about a Danish photographer who I admire a lot: her name is Christina Greve, but she's better known as Divas and dream photography.

This woman has begun getting cracking at photography for nearly a year but - in my humble opinion - she has already achieved amazing results. You can realize how beautiful her work is by going to her blog or to her Flickr photostream.

I really love the vintage & retro style she gives to her photos (which she has defined as "boudoir style photography"), created with natural life, soft colours and several hours spent with Photoshop.

I'm often stunned by her pictures, also because - I have to remark that - she's completely self-taught, just like me, but the gap is abysmal! I wonder if I'll ever be a great photographer as she already is.
